2011 Year and Review

• World Events- 2011 Current Events, The website contains all the events that were current in 2011. The most interesting one on the list would be June 2011 U.S News The Casey Anthony Trial.

• Celebrity News-Best of 2011 top celebrity news, The website contains celebrity news and my most interesting thing that is posted would have too  be Adeles Album "21" being at the top of the billboard charts.

• Famous Deaths-Famous Deaths of 2011, The website contains information on deaths in 2011 of well know famous artists,singers, and people. The interesting one i find is Amy Wine house because she is a good singer and ive listened too her before.

• Entertainment (Movies, Music, etc.)-Best Movies of 2011 , The website has lists of the best movies of 2011, the most interesting one i find is "Twilight".

• Extreme Weather-Extreme Weather in 2011  The website has a list of extreme weather, and the most interesting is the drought in Texas that the water level is so low that it reveals towns that were flooded a long time ago.

• Photos-Top Photos of 2011 This website has a slide show of photos that were top of 2011, the most interesting photo ive seen would have too be Rick Wyatt coming out of the courtroom in freedom.

• Best and Worse Reality Shows of 2011-Best and Worst Reality Shows of 2011 The video has the worst and best shows of 2011, my most interesting reality show that was the best would be "Bordertown Laredo"

The Main Point: Bag ban will help on a bigger scale

Residents looking to keep their surroundings litter-free and environment healthy should support the proposed plastic bag ban.
Ecology students and the Human Environment Animal Team organization have been making a push to preserve the ecological integrity of the city. The students brought the idea to the San Marcos City Council and encouraged the city to take part in a proposed citywide single-use bag ban. Recently, the City Council took this effort a step further by deciding to consider the ban.

•  The statement "the city council took this effort a step further by deciding to consider the ban." states that the editorial is to warn others that the City Council may provide with the ban. I do agree with what the editorial is saying because it is helping the enviroment and keeping the places around us litter free.I think also that having the single use only one bag ban will save and help our environment and we wont have as much litter floating around our society and pollution.

The Main Point: Breast cancer awareness should remain constant

October is marked with pink ribbons tied around light poles and strung throughout The Quad. This pink invasion marks a month dedicated to spreading awareness for breast cancer.

• I think this editorial is too praise because of the statement "..dedicated to spreading awareness for breast cancer." I also think it is too let everyone know about breast cancer and to support it. I agree with breast cancer awareness month. I think that is helps more people get involved and donate and support the breast cancer women and makes it become more recognizable. I also believe it gives the ones that are going thru or went thru or has family or friends that have cancer support and feel like their not alone.

The Main Point: Alternative Transportation Needed

Driving While Intoxicated arrests have soared this past year in San Marcos. With cuts to the largely successful Students With Alternative Transportation program, or S.W.A.T., finding a safe ride home can prove difficult for students and residents alike. It is the editorial board's hope that given this new data, the city and university will work together to create safe transportation for bar patrons.

• I think that the article is to inform the readers because of the following quote "the city and university will work together to create safe transportation for bar patrons." I agree with the article because it is better and will drop most of the DWI that are occurring because of wreckless intoxicated drivers. It also helps save people from going thru the troubles of having a DWI and going thru the expenses required for the consequence.I also think by informing this article to students, students will try to revive the program so the program can come back to life again and the number of accidents and deaths will decrease. I think also by writing this article someone will come along and try to revive the transportation and make sure they have the budget for it.

3.This topic is interesting and worthy to me because i find it interesting to know that homeless people have opportunity's that are given to them to have a roof over their head and being feed, and all that the people are asking for is for the homeless people to volunteer and give help to the stations and clean, and they also teach them how to be good and react in society.

4.What most likely inspired the columnist to write about the topic of homeless people is the fact that some homeless people are willing to work for housing, and to have a roof over their head and the organization takes in almost everybody. So many homeless are not willing to go out and look for  a job on their free time that they have while their not at the Salvation Army.

5.The point that the columnist is making is that the homeless people at the shelter some may be required or asked to work, since their roofing and the expenses being made from the city towards the shelters. Homeless people being asked to work is like giving back to the shelter from giving them a roof over their head.

7.I have to rate the writing a 10 becasue Andrea used quotes in her article and stated everything in a correct way to understand whats going on and what is being asked.

8. I don't think that there are any weaknesses in the argument for the writer in the article.

9.My opinon on this column is that this is a good article and homless people should have a roof over their head and being feed and not hungry , but also they should give bac kto the city for helping and paying for their expenses and homeless should be helped medically and to rehabitalations if needed to help them out and show them how to work.

 What can happen is that your asking questions and not listening to the answers, and if you just ask questions and have a real conversation with them you can get a natural conversation and the person will be more out to give more interesting answers.

Sam Donaldson says "Where were you born," and the person reply "I'm gonna declare world war lll tomorrow" and then the interviewee ask "how old are you".

 Shirley Biagi says "If your talking more than 10 percent of the time your talking to much..." . She says if you talk much during the time then the story will come about you and not the person your interviewing at the end.
