Eagle's Eye Evaluation (Current Event)

Pick up a copy of the April 2 edition of The Eagle’s Eye newspaper. Look at each section of the newspaper. Beginning with the front page, find what you think is the most interesting article from each section of the newspaper. Write the headline for the most interesting article for the following sections of the newspaper:
  1. Front Page/News- Cancellation of powderpuff game affects price of prom
  2. Opinions-Administration takes action, New tardy policy takes an aim at seniors coming back late from off campus lunch every day by taking away parking permits
  3. In-Depth- Summer activities approach quickly
  4. Student Life- Students create hip hop group
  5. Arts and Entertainment-Students selling shoes for a big pront and collecting shoes for their closets
  6. Sports- Baseball struggling to make playoffs
Out of all of the articles you selected, pick the one that you think is the most interesting out of all of them. Answer the following questions:
1. Why does this article interest you?
It interests me because next year im going too have a parking permit and most likely going to leave campus.
2. How do you think the reporter came up with the idea for the story? Maybe they were caught by the counselor with always being tardy when they came back too campus or with a friend back too campus and their a senior.

3. What news value does the article appeal to? (impact, proximity, timeliness, novelty, prominence, conflict, human interest) How do you know? It appeals too conflict because it can effect students choices on leaving campus during lunch.

4. What are some facts included in the article?
"Three tardies in the same week should count the same as any other tardies,..."

5. What are some sources of facts or quotes from the story?
"So you mean to tell me that if I'm late from lunch more than three time i get my parking permit taken away?"

6. What would you have needed to do to write this article if you were the writer?
If i were too write this article i would have too go out and interview the principals and students that are ongoing with this situation and their opinions about this and also students that don't have this issues opinions.

7. Brainstorm one story idea for the next edition of the Eagle's Eye newspaper? 
A idea for the next edition of Eagle's Eye newspaper would have too be will class of 2013 have prom issues, and tardy differences of parking permit requirements.
