The Main Point: Bag ban will help on a bigger scale

Residents looking to keep their surroundings litter-free and environment healthy should support the proposed plastic bag ban.
Ecology students and the Human Environment Animal Team organization have been making a push to preserve the ecological integrity of the city. The students brought the idea to the San Marcos City Council and encouraged the city to take part in a proposed citywide single-use bag ban. Recently, the City Council took this effort a step further by deciding to consider the ban.

•  The statement "the city council took this effort a step further by deciding to consider the ban." states that the editorial is to warn others that the City Council may provide with the ban. I do agree with what the editorial is saying because it is helping the enviroment and keeping the places around us litter free.I think also that having the single use only one bag ban will save and help our environment and we wont have as much litter floating around our society and pollution.

The Main Point: Breast cancer awareness should remain constant

October is marked with pink ribbons tied around light poles and strung throughout The Quad. This pink invasion marks a month dedicated to spreading awareness for breast cancer.

• I think this editorial is too praise because of the statement "..dedicated to spreading awareness for breast cancer." I also think it is too let everyone know about breast cancer and to support it. I agree with breast cancer awareness month. I think that is helps more people get involved and donate and support the breast cancer women and makes it become more recognizable. I also believe it gives the ones that are going thru or went thru or has family or friends that have cancer support and feel like their not alone.

The Main Point: Alternative Transportation Needed

Driving While Intoxicated arrests have soared this past year in San Marcos. With cuts to the largely successful Students With Alternative Transportation program, or S.W.A.T., finding a safe ride home can prove difficult for students and residents alike. It is the editorial board's hope that given this new data, the city and university will work together to create safe transportation for bar patrons.

• I think that the article is to inform the readers because of the following quote "the city and university will work together to create safe transportation for bar patrons." I agree with the article because it is better and will drop most of the DWI that are occurring because of wreckless intoxicated drivers. It also helps save people from going thru the troubles of having a DWI and going thru the expenses required for the consequence.I also think by informing this article to students, students will try to revive the program so the program can come back to life again and the number of accidents and deaths will decrease. I think also by writing this article someone will come along and try to revive the transportation and make sure they have the budget for it.

3.This topic is interesting and worthy to me because i find it interesting to know that homeless people have opportunity's that are given to them to have a roof over their head and being feed, and all that the people are asking for is for the homeless people to volunteer and give help to the stations and clean, and they also teach them how to be good and react in society.

4.What most likely inspired the columnist to write about the topic of homeless people is the fact that some homeless people are willing to work for housing, and to have a roof over their head and the organization takes in almost everybody. So many homeless are not willing to go out and look for  a job on their free time that they have while their not at the Salvation Army.

5.The point that the columnist is making is that the homeless people at the shelter some may be required or asked to work, since their roofing and the expenses being made from the city towards the shelters. Homeless people being asked to work is like giving back to the shelter from giving them a roof over their head.

6.Salvation Army in Austin Tx, and Haven for Hope in San Marcos.

7.I have to rate the writing a 10 becasue Andrea used quotes in her article and stated everything in a correct way to understand whats going on and what is being asked.

8. I don't think that there are any weaknesses in the argument for the writer in the article.

9.My opinon on this column is that this is a good article and homless people should have a roof over their head and being feed and not hungry , but also they should give bac kto the city for helping and paying for their expenses and homeless should be helped medically and to rehabitalations if needed to help them out and show them how to work.

 What can happen is that your asking questions and not listening to the answers, and if you just ask questions and have a real conversation with them you can get a natural conversation and the person will be more out to give more interesting answers.

Sam Donaldson says "Where were you born," and the person reply "I'm gonna declare world war lll tomorrow" and then the interviewee ask "how old are you".

 Shirley Biagi says "If your talking more than 10 percent of the time your talking to much..." . She says if you talk much during the time then the story will come about you and not the person your interviewing at the end.

Lead Writting

Two vehicles collide on late Sunday afternoon, while a 13 year old is going the wrong direction in South,Austin , Two senior citizens were sent to the hospital, one was released, the boy was sent to Brackenridge with minor cuts.

Revise Lead-
AUSTIN- A head-on collision was caused in South Austin because a 13 year old boy was driving the wrong way against traffic leaving two senior citizens injured and their car totaled. 

Who:Roger Clementine-13; John Jacob Jingle-Heimer-Smith-91,; Melba-67;

What:13 year old boy Roger, goes the wrong way and collides with two senior citizens late Sunday afternoon.

Why:13 yr old Roger was driving the wrong way on the road, and made a head on collision with a elderly couple.

How:The collision was head on, Roger(13 yr old boy) running into the couples car 60 milers per hour.

When: September 25, 2011.

Where: Eastbound Slaughter lane, South Austin.


The most important news element is probably how fast the 13 year old boy was going, which was 60 miles per hour while the elderly 91, and 67 yr old man and women  was only going 10 miles per hour.

Two Homes Destroyed, While 2 Pigs Left Dead , In Baconville: Murder?

After Two Homes being Destroyed, and Two missing and one life lost. People of the town are questioning and wondering what happen to their two lost missing friends? Also are questioning about the knowledge of who was around the time both of the piggy's went missing. People of the community are also wondering what happened to big bad wolf?
The third pig explained that Pig 1 & 2's houses were knocked down and the Big Bad Wolf tryed getting into the 3rd pigs home. Now the third pig is in custody and being questioned to put the puzzle together.

The stories behind the photos.

This photo stands out in its own way, because its showing the man having to leave his home with his trunk open packing his stuff leaving while the fire starts behind his home, it looks like its during the afternoon and his running fast as possible to get his stuff packed.

This photo stands out because it really does show how bad this fire got and how these rescuers risked there life in the smokey sky, it looks like you really cant see anything the smoke was bad.

This photo is different in its own way since the man that leaves in the community himself has a bucket of water trying to put out the fire, when the fire spreads on the sides of the grass.

This photo shows the fear that the people in bastrop were having. It stands out because of the sky and how high the fire was in the sky.

The photo shows the man looking down, probley a neighbor or home owner, just walking away as the fire keeps going and they cant do anything about it.

Remembering 9-11

• The day of 9/11 I really don't remember much to be honest.
• I was at school that day and i was still in elementary.
• I don't really remember what the adults where telling me to be honest since i was only 5 yrs.
• Nor do i remember what my parents were telling me..
• Now that im a High School Student and i know whats going on and why 9/11 took place by terriorists, all i think is PEACE in this world should happen so this wont happen again when im older.

Analyzing the News: 5 W's & H

Toodler left on board after morning day care delivery dies in sweltering van

WHO-

• Family and friends are being affected by this news of the toddler, because some family's children go to daycare.
• They should disagree with this situation. A child shouldn't be left to suffer, and the driver who drove the kids around should have checked twice. I have a Year and 8 month niece and i could NEVER imagine myself leaving her in the car when we go to the stores.

• To help prevent in of this too happen, people should always check before they leave, and of course in this case since its a situation with a daycare they should do row checking and check counting before they put the children in the car and after wards when they meet their destination.

 WHAT-

• 17 month old toddler boy left behind in the van while on his way to day care.
• There really isn't any solution to this problem, the family lost one of their loved ones just because a mistake that the driver couldn't do which was do row check and check the bus as the kids got off. Only people can read the article and be sure not to do the same mistake that this driver did.

WHEN-

WHERE-

•  This story takes place in Boston.
• It really doesn't matter where the situation takes place. All that matters is that the driver left the child behind and any where in the world this could be happening and it needs to be prevented.

HOW-

• The event in this article happened by a driver not checking if anyone was on the bus after he dropped the children all off at daycare, and a boy got left behind.

WHY-

• The lack of carelessness took place and that's why this event occurred, it only would have tooken no more than 30 seconds for the driver to take a second look if any toddlers were on the bus.

- I think this blog gets many followers because Perez Hilton appears on vh1 sometimes and says funny stuff, that catches peoples attention and sure enough they look his blog up to see what hes latest news are. Also because he makes his own videos that are funny  and some sayings to deal with celebrity's that aren't so good.But mostly i think the site has so many followers because of the gossip Perez does.

 - This Blog caught my interest immediately! Because of the colors that they have and the headlines that say the latest news like such as Beyonce Is Pregnant! & Justin Beibers Car Crash! Also because on the right side of the page the website has all the movie stars from Hangover, Twilight, Easy A, and singers! It also interests me because if you scroll down on the first page it has the latest gossip of celebrity's!

-I think the website has so many followers because of Face Book, Twitter, and all of those follower sites!Also because of the logo "Everybody's Business Is My Business" that makes people wanna read whats going on and who's business is on the website!

• CWTV

-This Blog interested me because i watch the shows sometimes that are on this website and for them to have a blog i can get on the website any time to see whats going on. Also because it has the times of the show when its going to come on at night. It also has the seasons of the shows on the website and the music that was played during those shows and the artist and album!

-I think this website gets A LOT of followers because many people watch the show and sometimes are at work or school and have a smart-phone or a computer by them and wanna see what time the show comes on or too catch up with the show and have the time it comes on. Also because it has sneak peaks of the next season that comes on such as "Gossip Girl" , "Americas Next Top Model", and "90210"

-This Blog interests me because it has photos of the latest news and the news and gossip.Like Such as it says T.I was on his way to a half way house a couple of days, that interest me because i wanna know what he did to go to a half way house and the gossip of that since he was recently in jail!
